Bio Sculpture vs Shellac / Gelish - which is best for you?

Here at Beautology we often get asked what the difference is between Bio Sculpture and Gelish, and which one is the best?

We offer Bio Sculpture, Gelish and Shellac here at Beautology, and whilst we can honestly say that they are all fantastic products there are differences between them, and its a case of understanding which one meets the individuals needs.

Hopefully this blog might answer some of your questions, and help you decide which treatment is best suited to you.

There are so many different nail products and treatments in the nail industry and we've tried a lot of the them, Shellac, Gelish and Bio Sculpture are leading brands for natural nails and we offer them all, but what are they and how do they work?

Let's start with Shellac / Gelish, these are both classes as a gel polish. A hybrid of both polish and gel, they look like nail polish, goes on like nail polish but it sets/cures in a UV or LED lamp like a gel. This means its instantly dry at the end of your manicure leaving you ready to use your hands freely straight away and it lasts for up to 3 weeks. It has a thin look and feel just like nail polish but it does not chip or peel. Perfect for those who like immaculate manicured nails. It has to be soaked off with special wraps but this only takes 10 mins, both procedures are done in the salon.

Bio Sculpture is slightly different.  Developed in 1988, this is 100% gel. It paints on from a pot with a brush and also dries in a UV or LED lamp. It has a thicker consistancing therefore it is a lot stronger. It is the healthiest nail treatment on the market as we use special vitamins before we apply it and it lets your nails breath while promoting them to grow. It lasts 3-4 weeks depending on nail growth and how you look after them. This product soaks off with gel remover and this can take up to 15 minutes.

All of these are available in clear, a wide variety of colours and glitters or French.
Shellac and Gelish is meant as a permanent polish and that only! It can be applied over acrylics too.
Bio gel is a nail treatment that helps the nails to grow, is thicker and lasts a little longer.
